Examining the Racial Wealth Gap

In 2016, non-Hispanic White households held a median value of $143,600 in assets. In contrast, Hispanic households held $21,420, and Black households held $12,920. According to a 2017 report from the Institute for Policy Studies, the median wealth of Black households is projected to drop to zero by 2053.
